Khwaja Yunus Ali University (KYAU) convened its inaugural Research and Innovation Cell (RIC) meeting on March 30, 2026, at 11:45 AM in Room 126, chaired by Prof. Dr. Fazle Rabbi Shakil Ahmed, Dean of the School of Bio-medical Science. Key faculty, including Member-Secretary Assistant Professor F. M. Javed Mehedi Shamrat outlined strategies to boost research and rankings.
The RIC's mission focuses on high-quality faculty publications, grant acquisition, interdisciplinary collaboration, and elevating QS standings through excellence. Members adopted these goals for efficient research across departments. Resolutions promoted student-teacher partnerships for indexed papers, with mentorship enhancing skills and outputs, linked to performance metrics. Faculty KPIs targets one journal article and two conference papers yearly backed by RIC support for journals and grants.
Proposals included a research framework with an online repository for articles and theses; dedicated office space with computers and tools; department-wise Scopus journal lists; updated faculty profiles; APC funding and conference incentives; logistics provision; seminars and workshops; and activating departmental research cells. Interdisciplinary projects gained emphasis with RIC facilitating cross-departmental efforts. Journal lists are due before the next meeting, launching a vibrant research culture at KYAU to amplify impact and visibility.
