The Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology (BCBT) hosted a full-day seminar on Research Idea Generation: Focus on Biomarker Discovery, led by Lecturer Md. Arju Hossain.
The seminar brought together students and early-career researchers to explore how curiosity can spark innovative biomedical research. Participants learned practical strategies like brainstorming, mind mapping, and literature gap analysis to generate and refine research questions. Case studies on cancer, neurodegenerative, and infectious disease biomarkers demonstrated how small, focused ideas can lead to reproducible and impactful discoveries.
Interactive sessions emphasized interdisciplinary approaches integrating genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, and bioinformatics, equipping attendees with tools to transform curiosity into meaningful scientific projects that advance human health.
