The Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology, Khwaja Yunus Ali University, successfully organized the Internship and Project Defence of Batch 14 for the Summer 2025 semester on 8 July 2026 in Room No. 211. Each student delivered a 15-minute presentation followed by a five-minute question-and-answer session.

A total of 16 students completed internships at reputed pharmaceutical, clinical, and research institutions. Eight students received industrial training at Doctors Chemical Works Ltd., gaining hands-on experience in pharmaceutical production, quality control, product development, and laboratory practices. Five students completed internships at the Laboratory of Biochemistry, Khwaja Yunus Ali Medical College and Hospital, where they developed competencies in clinical biochemistry, diagnostic testing, sample processing, and laboratory management. One student each completed internships at Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital, Mansur Ali Medical College, and the Bangladesh Oceanographic Research Institute (BORI).

Internship presentations were evaluated based on learning outcomes, subject knowledge, understanding of internship activities, presentation quality, and overall performance by Professor Ranajit Kumar Shaha, PhD, Dr. Md. Tariqul Islam, and Rubait Hasan.

The Project Defence showcased research on phytochemical profiling, antioxidant and antidiabetic activities, industrial wastewater ecotoxicology, GC–MS-based metabolite identification, mosquitocidal activity, cancer-related multi-omics, and integrated in vitro/in silico drug discovery. The defence panel included distinguished academic experts, external examiners from allied departments, and internal faculty members, who assessed scientific merit, research methodology, data interpretation, presentation quality, viva performance, and professionalism.

The successful completion of the defence sessions reflected the department's commitment to research excellence, practical training, and the development of competent graduates.
