Intra-department Friendly Debate Competition 2026 Organized by Microbe\'s Club

The Microbe's Club, under the supervision of the Department of Microbiology, Khwaja Yunus Ali University (KYAU), successfully organized the Intra-department Friendly Debate Competition 2026 on July 30, 2026, at Seminar Room 211. The event was arranged to cultivate critical thinking, logical reasoning, effective communication, and teamwork while encouraging students' active participation in co-curricular activities.

The competition consisted of two debate sessions on contemporary issues. The first session addressed the topic, "Investment in research is the primary driving force for sustainable development," while the second session debated "Social media is responsible for moral degradation." Students from different academic batches participated enthusiastically, presenting well-reasoned arguments, analytical perspectives, and confident public speaking skills in a highly engaging academic atmosphere.

The debates were moderated by Dr. Md. Masudur Rahman Khalil (PhD), while faculty members served as mentors to the participating teams. The event was attended and encouraged by Md. Babul Aktar, Assistant Professor and Head, Department of Microbiology, along with all faculty members of the department, whose support contributed significantly to the success of the program.

In the first debate session, Group D emerged as the winning team, while Shabrina Nura Saba (22nd Batch) was recognized as the Best Debater. In the second session, Group C secured the championship, and Sumaiya Parvin Reshmi (20th Batch) received the Best Debater award. The winning teams and Best Debaters were presented with commemorative crests and certificates, while all participants were congratulated for their excellent performances and enthusiastic participation.

The Intra-department Friendly Debate Competition 2026 reflects the Department of Microbiology's ongoing commitment to nurturing students' intellectual growth, communication skills, and leadership qualities through meaningful academic and co-curricular initiatives.
